The general minimum age to attend training is 16, unlike High-Risk Work training which is 18+. You’ll need reasonable physical fitness to operate plant and equipment, including the ability to access and egress machinery.
Personal protective equipment is required for all practical plant operation training, including hi-vis shirt, long pants, safety glasses, gloves and steel-cap boots. A hard hat is required for any session conducted outdoors.
Yes, these courses are available on-site at your workplace or at our training facility, whichever suits your operations best.
You’ll receive your Statement of Attainment from Training U within 30 calendar days of successful course completion.
Yes. All civil construction courses are nationally recognised units of competency from the Resources and Infrastructure (RII) Training Package.
Civil construction plant operation courses are all recognised nationally accredited units of competency and result in the issuance of a Statement of Attainment from us. Examples include equipment like excavators, loaders, rollers, reach stackers, and haul trucks. If you’re not sure if your machine qualifies for a national unit, get in touch and we will assist.
Not necessarily. We offer Recognition of Prior Learning pathways and Verification of Competency assessments across all our training areas. If you can demonstrate existing skills and provide adequate evidence, an RPL or VOC may be a faster pathway than completing the full course. Get in touch and we’ll let you know whether an RPL or VOC applies to your situation.
