Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. These individuals take responsibility for own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

The qualification that Training U is delivering is specifically for persons wanting to work in Ageing or Disability.

Course Delivery Mode

Training U conducts this course face to face at our Rockingham facility
or you are able to complete this course online.

Course Duration

Minimum 14 weeks of face to face delivery (4 x 8 hour days per week)

12 months for online delivery

120 hours of work placement.

Prerequisites and Course Requirements

Students must have a pre enrolment interview with Training U before being offered a place.
Students need to demonstrate they have proficiency in English, some students may be required to sit for a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills (LLND) before being offered a place.
This course is approved by the Department of Training and Workforce and Development (DTWD)
Online delivery is fee for service, payment plans can be arranged

Certification

On successful completion of this course, the student will receive the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support testamur with Record of Results. A Statement of Attainment will be issued for partial completion of the course.

Government Funding

Certificate III in Individual Support is Fee free course for eligible students under the Jobs & Skills WA funding.

The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrollment. Additional fees may apply such as resource fees and other fees

Eligibility criteria is:

Australian citizen or an Australian resident (or under appropriate Visa)
Over 15 years of age, and completed secondary school (or otherwise have an exemption)
Permanently reside in Western Australia

What is a Unique Student Identifier (USI)?

From 1 January 2015, all students studying nationally recognised training in Australia are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). A USI provides students online access to their training records and results (transcripts) through their free online USI account.

A USI is required for new and continuing students undertaking nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to receive their statements of attainment or qualifications. A USI can be obtained at no cost to students and your USI stays with you for life.
You can apply for a USI via the Australian Government Department of Industry Alternatively, with your permission, Training U can obtain your USI on your behalf.
