This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. These individuals take responsibility for own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.The qualification that Training U is delivering is specifically for persons wanting to work in Ageing or Disability.
On successful completion of this course, the student will receive the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support testamur with Record of Results. A Statement of Attainment will be issued for partial completion of the course.
Certificate III in Individual Support is Fee free course for eligible students under the Jobs & Skills WA funding.

From 1 January 2015, all students studying nationally recognised training in Australia are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). A USI provides students online access to their training records and results (transcripts) through their free online USI account.
A USI is required for new and continuing students undertaking nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to receive their statements of attainment or qualifications. A USI can be obtained at no cost to students and your USI stays with you for life.
You can apply for a USI via the Australian Government Department of Industry Alternatively, with your permission, Training U can obtain your USI on your behalf.
You’ll need a pre-enrolment interview with Training U before you’re offered a place, along with proficient English language skills. If you’re relying on government-funded training, you’ll also need to be an Australian citizen or permanent resident (or hold an eligible visa), be over 15, have completed secondary school, and live permanently in Western Australia.
We offer the delivery of this course either face to face or online. The face to face option is delivered in our Rockingham facility over a minimum of 14 weeks (three 8-hour days a week), or online over 12 months.
On successful completion, you’ll receive your CHC33021 testamur with Record of Results, issued within 30 calendar days as required under the RTO Standards. If you leave before finishing the full qualification, you’ll get a Statement of Attainment for the units you’ve completed.
CHC33021 is a nationally recognised qualification under the AQF framework in Australia. For government-subsidised places, the course is also approved by the WA Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD).
All students are required to conduct a national police clearance and have records of vaccination history prior to going on work placements. A further Working with children and NDIS screening check will be required if the placements are to occur in a disability facility environment.
Training U organises your work placement for you. You won’t need to find and negotiate with a host employer yourself: our team matches you with a placement relevant to your course and industry, and handles the arrangements directly with that organisation.
Support doesn’t stop once you’re placed. Your trainer or placement coordinator stays in contact throughout, so if anything comes up on site, you’ve got someone to call, and you’ll get guidance to make sure you’re meeting the requirements for your qualification.
